ABOUT DR.LIL

Dr. Lil is an anointed worship minister, songwriter, recording artist, author, and conference speaker. She is an individual who simply loves the Lord! Music, particularly praise and worship has been an integral part of Lilian’s life and as such most of her life encounters have been characterized by music. Dr. Lil has recorded 2 music albums Duto Mag Yesu (All to Jesus) and My Everything. 

 

 The writing of Dancing in the Rain was prompted by Dr. Lil's personal life experiences that she tackled through a worshipful lifestyle. The book is a culmination of encouraging encounters over the course of Dr.Lil's own life. 

 

Dr. Lil is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She received her BS in Psychology from Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. She completed her M.S. & Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI. Dr. Lil is currently in private practice and operates under LifeStance Health Inc.

CONSULTING

Dr. Lil is a Maryland Licensed Psychologist and functions as an administrator, psychotherapist, researcher, author, professor, and mentor, among other professional roles. She provides consultation on mental health issues particularly to organizations within communities of color. Dr. Lil’s work in the community has mainly been among immigrants of African descent and has focused on training, psychoeducation, and outreach in destigmatizing mental health help-seeking and integration of faith in service provision. Mental health topics can be adapted to suit the needs of your organization.

 

Promoting African Mental Health (PAMH)

This is an organization founded by Dr. Lil, whose mission is to bring awareness of mental health and mental illness among individuals of African descent. PAMH aims at providing education on mental health issues and addressing the intersectionality of cultural, religious, ethnic, racial, national, and regional factors with mental health and overall well-being. A central purpose of PAMH is to destigmatize mental health and help-seeking behavior among people of African descent by facilitating conversations about psychological wellness and providing psychoeducative information to the African community.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Network of African Mental Health Practitioners (NAMHP)

Founded by Dr. Lil, NAMHP is a network of mental health practitioners of African descent. The purpose of the organization is to provide a space for mental health providers to network, access information, and learn about mental health issues among African people. NAMHP also aims at promoting cultural efficiency/competence in the provision of mental health services to individuals of African descent by providing opportunities for multicultural and diversity training and disseminating information about mental health conferences, forums, and seminars.
